The goal of this series
is to give recent graduates of acupuncture
school confidence in how to safely and effectively
treat their patients.
It is also ideal for practitioners
who have not recently practiced, or those looking
to learn new methods and are seeking community.
This is a great way to
get PDA's locally, meet other practitioners,
and deepen your knowledge.
The course will meet for
five weeks, every other Friday,
from 9:00AM until 3:00PM with an hour lunch break.
Each class will be awarded 5 PDA's (applied for).
Participants may take as many individual classes
as they like.

Topics Covered:
Session 1 (October 1, 2010): Introductions, treatments
for Back Pain, Sinus Pain, Anxiety and Depression, Insomnia,
Patient Management (how to talk to your patients about
a variety of issues starting with the first contact).
Session 2 (October 15,
2010): IVF support protocol, labor Induction, turning
babies, and recovery from surgery Three case studies
from the previous session will be presented for discussion.
Session 3 (October 29,
2010): What to do when you don't know what to do. Miriam
Lee's 5 Magic Points, Tried and true liniments, plasters,
ointments and other tools that no one should be without.
Best websites for practitioners. Three case studies
from previous session will be presented for discussion.
Session 4 (November 12,
2010): 8 Extraordinary Vessels, location of meridians,
functions of meridians, indications, point selection
and combinations. Three case studies from previous sessions
will be presented for discussion.
Session 5 (Dec 3, 2010):
Presentation and highlights of 6 essential books. Breathing
exercises and TCM nutritional suggestions for patients.
Three case studies from previous sessions will be presented
for discussion. Remaining questions and answers.

Dory Ellen Fish, R.Ac., has
been an NCCAOM Diplomat since 1995. Her primary education
and the heart of her practice is Five Element. However
after 17 years and thousands of treatments, her practice
has evolved and become a synthesis of Five Element,
TCM, auricular therapy, and the teachings of
Jeffrey Yuen, Alex Tiberi, Lonny Jarrett, Richard
Tan and Debra Betts, with whom she has studied
extensively.
Last year, she received a certification
in Oncological Acupuncture from Memorial Sloan
Kettering, and will complete the Advanced Oncology
program in 2011.She has been a guest lecturer at University
of Pennsylvania, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, FORCE,
RESOLVE and Drexel University.
She is eager to share her many
years of clinical experience in her private practice
as well as the wide range of knowledge she has acquired
through continuing education.
She is particularly passionate
about helping new practitioners gain the confidence
and skills needed to cultivate a practice that uniquely
reflects their wisdom as healers and build their "bag
of tricks". She also holds Masters degrees in
Fine Arts and Photography.
